CHIKE e-Kids

The CHIKE e-Kids is a cargo trike with a front cabin — a tilting and suspended chassis tricycle that carries one or two children in a closed aluminium cabin, powered by the driver assisted by the Shimano Steps EP6 DU-EP600-CRG 85 Nm (cargo version). The Shimano BT-EN606 630 Wh integrated battery powers the whole system. The transmission is a Shimano Inter 5E Di2 (5-speed hub with electronic control featuring automatic mode — gear shifting included at red lights) and a Gates CDX silent maintenance-free belt. The screen Shimano SC-EN610 (LCD colour, Bluetooth) controls the 4 levels of assistance. PTAC 200 kg, cabin load 60 kg, driver height 1.60–2.00 m.

The brakes are TEKTRO hydraulic (Auriga Twin HD-T525, 2 pistons on the front wheels; HD-T285 on the rear wheel). The tyres are Schwalbe Big Apple (front) and Big Ben (rear). The front lighting Busch & Müller IQ-XS E 70 Lux is among the most powerful on the cargo market. The frame lock AXA Block XXL is integrated. The cabin made of aluminium tubes offers a seat width of 68 cm (1 or 2 children side by side), adjustable 5-point harness, removable canopy with mosquito net and roof window. The tiltable chassis locks to facilitate the boarding/alighting of children. Dimensions: 192 × 73 cm, weight: 38 kg. The CHIKE is modular : the Kids cabin can be replaced by a Cargo box or a Dog module without changing the frame.

In Brussels, the CHIKE e-Kids is aimed at families who want the advantages of a cargo trike (visibility of children at the front, all-weather full protection, stable behaviour on three wheels) with a serious Shimano Steps motor and an automatic Di2 transmission that takes care of the gears in dense traffic. The tilting chassis in corners distinguishes the CHIKE from other trikes — it does not tip over like an ordinary bike but holds the road naturally. Modularity is a strong point: a single chassis for all life stages (children, shopping, dog).
