The frame is generally more comfortable than that of a classic road bike, offering a more upright position for better stability. Disc brakes allow for effective braking, even in muddy conditions, and wide tyres provide good grip. The gearing is suited for tackling climbs and descents, and many gravel bike models are equipped with mounts for racks, ideal for bike touring.
