The Bosch Smart System powers most recent Bosch e-bikes. Beyond the motor, it brings useful anti-theft features. Here is what is included, what needs a subscription, and how to protect your bike properly in Brussels.

What is the Bosch Smart System?
It is the current generation of Bosch electronics: motor, battery, display or remote and app all talk to each other. Your bike receives updates, you adjust the assistance from your phone and you access the security features through the free eBike Flow app.
At KOMUT you will find it on many models, including Tern, Urban Arrow, Bike43, Lovens and Moustache. Riese & Müller bikes also have their own connected system, RX Connect.

eBike Lock
Free · included
When you switch the bike off, the assistance stays off until your smartphone or display is recognised. The bike becomes useless to a thief who wants to ride it.

eBike Alarm
ConnectModule · subscription
The ConnectModule, a small connected unit, detects suspicious movement: the bike sounds an alert and you get a notification. If it is stolen, you follow its GPS position in the app.

Our advice for protecting your bike in Brussels
- Use a good-quality U-lock or folding lock and attach the frame to a fixed point.
- Take the battery with you if you park on the street for a long time.
- Enable eBike Lock from delivery: it is free.
- Write down the frame number and keep your invoice.
- For a valuable bike, add the alarm and theft insurance.
The KOMUT tip
No system replaces a good lock. The electronics make the bike less attractive and help you find it; the lock stops it being taken.

Most recent Bosch bikes do. You can tell by the new-generation display or remote and compatibility with the eBike Flow app. If in doubt, drop by a store.
Yes, on most bikes with the Smart System. Our workshop fits and activates it with you.
No. eBike Lock switches off the assistance, but the bike can still be moved or carried off. A strong lock is still essential.
