Is a 14-inch bike right for your child?

The guide age of 3 to 4.5 is only a reference point: your child’s height and inseam matter more. Ideally, come and try in store and we will check the right saddle height with you.

Growing with the bike

A bike that is too big is scary, one that is too small is tiring. Choose a size where the child can touch the ground, with an adjustable saddle that grows with them.

What comes next?

After 14 inches comes the 16-inch bike, often around age 4 to 5.

What really matters

Size before age: the child should reach the ground while seated; inseam matters more than age.
Weight: a light bike is easier to control and makes riding fun.
Brakes: levers sized for small hands.
Safety: helmet, lights and bell for riding in town.

What budget should you plan?

The model currently listed in this category is priced at €439. A light, well-made bike lasts for years and can be handed down from one child to the next.
